The bees arrived, and they were immediately more professional about it than I expected. Placed the frames. Found the queen. Watched them do that little communication dance — and if you’ve never seen it, it’s exactly as cool as it sounds. Closed up the hive. Within minutes they had found the entrance and were coming and going like they’d always lived there. Which, to be fair, is kind of the point. Your whole job is to build them a good home and get out of the way. They’ve been doing this significantly longer than any of us. We’ve got chickens who operate the same way. A garden on its own schedule. And now a hive that has already made very clear it doesn’t need my input. This is mountain living in Tuolumne County. 🌲 You just create the right conditions — and something beautiful happens. 🐝

Not a day goes by in this job where someone’s house doesn’t make me stop and think — who built this, and what were they going for? 🏔️ Walking into someone’s home is a privilege I genuinely don’t take lightly.
