What does Twain Harte Homes & Land joining Real Broker mean for buyers, sellers, and agents?

Twain Harte Homes & Land — one of Tuolumne County's most established real estate brokerages — has officially joined Real Broker. The result is a brokerage that combines decades of hyper-local expertise and community trust with the technology, financial model, and infrastructure of one of the fastest-growing cloud brokerages in the country. For buyers and sellers in Twain Harte, Soulsbyville, Mi Wuk Village, Pinecrest, Tuolumne, and Sonora, the name you've trusted is still here — now backed by significantly more resources.

Twain Harte Homes & Land Joins Real Broker

I've been sitting on this news for a little while. And I'm genuinely glad I finally get to say it out loud.

Twain Harte Homes & Land is officially part of Real Broker.

If you've lived in these mountains for any amount of time, you know the THHL name. My dad built that brokerage from the ground up. For decades, it became one of the most trusted names in real estate across Tuolumne County — Twain Harte, Soulsbyville, Mi Wuk Village, Pinecrest, Tuolumne, Sonora. Deep roots. Real relationships. A reputation earned transaction by transaction.

In October of 2024, I made a hard call. I left my dad's brokerage to join Real Broker, because I believed — and still believe — that's where this industry is heading. The technology, the financial model, the infrastructure for agents: it was too good to walk away from. At the time, bringing the THHL name along wasn't an option. So I went, I built, and I committed fully.

Then the conversation opened back up. And this time, the answer was yes.

My dad and I are partnered again. The THHL legacy and Real Broker's platform — together, officially, under one roof.

What Changed (And What Didn't)

Here's the honest version.

What stayed the same:

The name. The community knowledge. The relationships. I was born and raised in Twain Harte. I've watched these mountain communities through every season and every market cycle — the inventory spikes every spring, the fire insurance disruptions, the way STR regulations have shifted the investment conversation, the quirks of a Pinecrest USFS leasehold transaction that would take an outside agent three calls just to understand.

That doesn't transfer. You either know this market or you don't. We do.

What got better:

Real Broker is one of the fastest-growing brokerages in the country. That growth isn't accidental — it's built on a model that actually invests in agents, which means agents can invest more in their clients.

For sellers, that means your listing gets marketed with more tools, more reach, and more tech than what most mountain-market competitors are working with. For buyers, it means your agent has access to resources and support that translate directly to a smoother transaction.

And for agents? I'll get to that in a dedicated post — but the short version is: the financial model here is genuinely different, and it's worth understanding.

Why This Market Specifically Needed This

Tuolumne County real estate isn't straightforward. It never has been.

Buyers dealing with fire insurance — which is its own ongoing conversation in this county — need an agent who can speak to which carriers are active here and what coverage looks like at elevation. Sellers in communities like Mi Wuk or Soulsbyville need someone who understands that "comparable" means something different up here than it does at lower elevation or in the Central Valley.

STR investors looking at cabins in Twain Harte need an agent who knows the local regulatory environment cold, not one who's going to learn it on their transaction.

This is a specialist market. It always has been. The THHL name exists because of that reality — because someone decided decades ago that these communities deserved an agent who actually lived here and knew the land, not just someone passing through during a hot market.

That commitment is still the foundation. Real Broker just made it stronger.

What's Coming Next

This announcement is the start of a series. Over the next few weeks, I'm releasing videos — and companion blog posts — that go deeper on each piece of this:

For sellers: What the THHL + Real Broker combination means for how your home gets marketed, found, and sold in this specific county.

For buyers: Why working with a lifetime local matters more in Tuolumne County than almost anywhere else, and what out-of-area agents consistently miss.

For agents: The Real Broker financial model, what joining this team specifically offers, and why the THHL legacy brand is an advantage you can actually use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Real Broker, and why does it matter for clients?

Real Broker is a cloud-based brokerage that has grown rapidly by offering agents a significantly different financial and technology model than traditional brokerages. For clients, that translates to agents who are better resourced and supported — which means more tools, more marketing reach, and more capacity to serve buyers and sellers at a high level.

Does this change who handles my transaction?

No. Melissa Vallelunga, REALTOR® and Senior Partner, continues to lead transactions across Tuolumne County's mountain communities — Twain Harte, Soulsbyville, Mi Wuk Village, Pinecrest, Tuolumne, and Sonora. Same agent, same local expertise, stronger brokerage backing.

Is this a good time to sell in Twain Harte?

Timing is always property-specific and situation-specific. If you're thinking about selling — whether now or in the next 12 months — the best first step is a current market analysis for your property. Fire insurance availability and STR regulations continue to shape buyer demand in this county, and those factors vary significantly by location. Reach out and we'll look at your specific situation.
